Ghana defender Najeeb Yakubu unfazed by home team’s support

Ghana under 17 defender Najeeb Yakubu says they are not worried about the home team’s support insisting the game will be by players and not supporters.

Host Gabon are expected to have a huge support base today after losing their opener 5-1 to Guinea.

A win in for Ghana will ensure a ticket to the world cup in India.

“Winning the first match doesn’t mean you have qualified from the group stage. We are going to do all our best to win the game so we can qualify for the world Cup, that is our first target and make sure we can win the trophy too,”

“For the supporters they are not going to play the game, it is the players who are going to play the game. It is eleven – eleven, it’s not ten- ten so there is nothing about the supporters. We are going to win the match,” he said ahead of the game today.

Najeeb Yakubu was solid in stopping Cameroon from scoring in the first game.
