Bechem United owner and financier, Kingsley Owusua Achiaw, has expressed dissatisfaction with the efforts of Kurt Okraku in elevating football standards in the country.

Achiaw's comments come in the aftermath of the disappointing performance of the Black Stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

Despite being four-time African champions and aspiring for a fifth continental title, the Black Stars faced an embarrassing early exit in the group stage, accumulating only two points out of a possible nine.

This marked a consecutive premature departure at the group phase in AFCON history. The dismal showing led to the removal of head coach Chris Hughton.

Speaking in an interview monitored by Footballghana.com, Mr Owusu Achiaw asserted that football in Ghana has deteriorated under the leadership of Kurt Okraku.

He urged the Football Association to take decisive actions to address the challenges, stating, "Ghana football has collapsed under Kurt Okraku, and nobody can even defend it. We saw how our football was performing under Kwesi Nyantakyi, but you cannot say the same thing for Kurt Okraku.

"The game is struggling, and it is about time the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) wake up and fix the situation."

Simultaneously, a five-member committee has been formed to recommend a new coach for the Black Stars to the Executive Council.
