Ghana international Daniel Afriyie Barnieh played a pivotal role in FC Zurich’s home stalemate against Lausanne in the Swiss top-flight.

The former Hearts of Oak star made substitute appearance when his outfit played out a 2-2 draw against Lausanne at the Stadion Letzigrund.

Barnieh replaced Fabio Daprela at the beginning of the second half and made his presence felt in the encounter after serving an assist to help his side snatch a point on home turf.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 35th minute mark through Trae Coyle after connecting from Rares Ilie pass.

Lausanne doubled their advantage four minutes to the halftime break after Rares Ilie found the back of the net.

But FC Zurich staged a comeback to secure an all-important draw against their opponent in the much-anticipated clash on Wednesday night.

Switzerland international Bledian Krasniqi found the back of the net two minutes into the second half to reduce the deficit for the host.

The Ghanaian international needed only six minutes to set up his sides equalizer in the game. Barnieh assisted Rodrigo Conceicao in the 52nd minute mark to level pegging for FC Zurich as the game ended 2-2.

The 22-year-old Ghanaian attacker has been outstanding for FC Zurich in the ongoing campaign, scoring two goals and providing three assists in 23 appearances across competitions.
