Ghana international Frank Acheampong netted his first goal of the season for Henan FC in their narrow win over Qingdao Hainiu in the Chinese Super League.
The former Black Stars winger was handed starting role on Sunday when his outfit hosted their opponent in the week 7 of the top-flight.
The first half of the game ended in a pulsating goalless draw at the Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium, as both teams struggled to find the back of the net.
But Acheampong proved to be the hero for Henan FC after the halftime break, scoring a crucial goal to secure maximum points for his outfit on home turf.
The former Anderlecht star opened the scoring five minutes into the second half after connecting from Nemanja Covic pass.
And with no additional goal, Henan FC cruised to victory to merit the three maximum points at stake.
The 30-year-old has featured in all seven games this season for Henan FC, scoring one goal and providing an assist.
Acheampong joined Henan FC in February 2024 and signed a contract that will keep him at the club until December 2025.
