Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana showcased his impact as he salvaged a crucial point for Cagliari against his former team, Hellas Verona, in a gripping Serie A encounter on Monday.

Sulemana's timely intervention came as he emerged from the bench, marking his first appearance in over a month and securing his second goal of the season.

The 20-year-old playmaker, summoned by Claudio Renieri to replace Alessandro Deiola, entered the fray with Cagliari trailing at the Unipol Domus Stadium during the Serie A round 30 clash.

Hellas Verona had initially taken the lead through Frederico Bonazzoli within the first half-hour, with another goal disallowed shortly after the break.

Sulemana wasted no time in making his mark, swiftly equalizing for Cagliari just two minutes after his introduction with a sublime finish from a rebound.

The match concluded in a 1-1 draw, with no further goals altering the scoreline. This season, Sulemana has featured in 14 Serie A fixtures, starting in 11 of them and notching up two goals.

His transition to Cagliari from Hellas Verona last summer, following the latter's promotion to the Italian top flight, has proven fruitful for both player and club.
