Ghana Premier League matchday 12 report: WAFA give AshantiGold 6-1 mauling

WAFA gave AshantiGold a heavy 5-1 thrashing in their matchday 12 encounter at Sogakope on Sunday.

WAFA got on the front foot early and got the opener in the 27th minute. Center back Konadu Yiadom rose highest to head in a set piece.

AshantiGold leveled matters in the 35th minute. Amos Nkrumah headed home a cross from close range. WAFA pushed for another goal and got it in the 39th minute.

Andrews Ntim took advantage of a huge error by the Miners defence and slotted the ball home. The Academy boys took control of the game and added more insult to injury in the 48th minute. Ibrahim Abubakari scored from the spot to secure the win for the Sogakope-based club.

Konadu Yiadom killed the game off with a well-deserved brace in the 75th minute. AshantiGold went home battered and comfortably beaten.

Daniel Owusu made it a five for the hosts with a goal six minutes later. Jalilu Mola made it six just before the full time whistle.
