Ghanaian rising star Rufai Mohammed has signed a lucrative four-year contract with Swedish club Elfsborg IF, bidding farewell to his former team, Inter Allies, in Ghana's lower football divisions.

The 18-year-old signed for the Swedish club on a long term contract that runs until 2018.

The young talent's excitement for this new chapter was evident as he expressed his joy and gratitude towards the club and its welcoming environment.

Rufai's journey to Elfsborg began with a promising stint in 2023, training with the U19 squad and showcasing his skills in matches with the U21 team, laying the foundation for his desire to join the club officially.

The reunion with his former teammate Jalal, with whom he shared the field at Inter Allies FC, added to Rufai's anticipation, highlighting their camaraderie and mutual respect for each other's abilities.

“I’m very happy to be here. The people I’ve met in and around the team are amazing and very helpful.

“Jalal and I got to play about a season together in Inter Allies FC first team before he left, and it will be a lot of fun to play with him again. He’s a really good player."
