Ghana winger Fatawu Issahaku reacts to scoring his first ever career hat-trick

Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed his joy after netting his first ever career hat-trick to inspire Leicester City to a big win over Southampton in the English Championship.

Aside the hat-trick, the 20-year-old winger also served an assist as Leicester tore apart the Saints 5-0 at the King Power Stadium to place the Foxes within a win of returning to the Premier League.

“It’s so amazing and I feel so happy. This is what we are here to do. We are just going more to get to where we want to” he told the media after the game.

He continued, “We are ready. We have come a long way to lose what is in our hands. We are going harder than we use to. This is how we go and we will keep going till we get to where we want”

Issahaku opened the scoring with a composed finish in the 25th minute after he was put through on goal by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

That goal separated the two teams at halftime before Leicester came back from the break to run riot over Southampton.

A Wilfred Ndidi equalizer in the 62nd minute doubled the lead for the Foxes before Abdul Fatawu Issahaku got his second of the day in the 75th minute.

After that goal, veteran Leicester hero Jamie Vardy picked his moment to also get on the scoresheet in the 79th minute when Issahaku found him with a through pass.

Later in the 81st minute, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku put the icing on the cake when he scored from close range to seal a 5-0 win for Leicester City while completing a sensational hat-trick for himself.

Issahaku was named Man of the Match as he also goes home with the match ball for netting his sensational hat-trick.

The Ghana international is enjoying an amazing loan spell with the Foxes, racking up six goals and providing 12 assists in the Championship so far this season.
