England-born winger of Ghanaian descent, Brandon Thomas-Asante featured for West Bromwich Albion on Friday night when the team lost 3-1 to Southampton in the second leg of the Championship playoff semi-finals.

The talented attacker missed out on a starting role in the crucial game between the two teams.

In the 64th minute, his manager introduced him into the match to replace striker Jed Wallace.

Although Brandon Thomas-Asante would put in a good shift, his team fell short on the scoresheet at full-time and has failed in their attempt to gain promotion to the English Premier League.

Southampton in the game played at St. Mary’s failed to score in the first half but got the job done in the second half.

Forward Adam Armstrong scored a brace after a William Smallbone strike had opened the scoring for the Saints.

Following the 3-1 victory, Ghana’s Kamaldeen Sulemana who plays for Southampton is close to achieving promotion with his team to the English Premier League.

The Saints will face off with Leeds United in the Championship playoff final at Wembley.
