Ghanaian forward Charles Sagoe Jr has inked a new long-term contract with Arsenal, followed by a season-long loan move to League One side Shrewsbury Town for the 2024/25 campaign.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Gunners' academy from Fulham in 2015, has been rewarded for his impressive form last season.

Charles Sagoe Jr made 16 appearances across all competitions for the academy, netting three goals and providing 10 assists. Charles Sagoe Jr also marked his first-team debut with a start in Arsenal's 1-0 Carabao Cup victory at Brentford in September 2023.

The versatile forward, who spent time on loan at Swansea City last season, was also named among the substitutes in Arsenal's Premier League win against Burnley and their UEFA Champions League triumph over Sevilla in November 2023.

Charles Sagoe Jr will now look to gain further first-team experience with Shrewsbury Town.

Charles Sagoe Jr is eligible to represent England and Ghana internationally.

According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is 600,000 euros.
