Ghanaian forward Kwame Peprah delivered an outstanding performance to help Kerala Blasters secure victory over Shillong Lajong FC in the Indian Super Cup.

Peprah scored his first goal for the club in the 14th minute with a precise finish. To put the Tuskers ahead, he grabbed onto a defence-splitting pass from the ever-dangerous Dimitrios Diamantakos.

Peprah doubled the lead 12 minutes later, chesting in a deflected cross from Prabir Das to send Shillong Lajong scrambling.

The Red Dragons, on the other hand, refused to go down without a fight. Sachin Suresh took down Shillong Lajong striker Karim in the area in the 28th minute, earning Shillong Lajong a penalty. Captain Renan Paulinho calmly stepped up from the spot to put his team back in the game.

The Blasters kicked off the second half with more pressure. In the 47th minute, Aimen rose high in the box and met Daisuke's inch-perfect cross from the right wing with a thumping header, putting the Blasters back in complete control.

Kerala Blasters will play Jamshedpur FC at home in another Super Cup game on 15th January.
