Ghanaian goalkeeper Jordan Yamoah Amissah has ended his spell with Sheffield United following the closure of the 2023/24 football campaign.

The 22-year-old Ghanaian shot stopper leaves the club after six-year stint and is expected to find a new club ahead of the new campaign.

Amissah, who joined Sheffield United from Borussia Dortmund in December 2020 struggled to break into the senior team.

He debuted for the senior team in August 2022 when his outfit played out a 1-1 stalemate with Luton Town in the Championship. Amissah made substitute appearance in the game, replacing Wes Foderingham in the 78th minute.

The former Black Meteors shot stopper was included in Sheffield United’s Premier League squad in the just ended season but did not make any single appearance for the club in the top-flight.

Following the expiration of his contract, the club has decided not to renew Amissah’s contract and will leave as a free agent in the summer window.

“Thank you @SheffieldUnited for 6 special years! Made some unreal memories, from my debut to celebrating promotion! I wish everyone involved all the best moving forward and hope you’ll be back in the big time,” Amissah wrote on X.

Jordan Amissah was also part of the Black Meteors squad for the 2023 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
