Ghanaian-born German midfielder Roberto Massimo has made a welcomed return to first-team training with VfB Stuttgart.

After being sidelined due to a muscle injury, the 23-year-old rejoined the training group on Tuesday as preparations kicked off for the upcoming match against Gladbach this Saturday afternoon.

However, Massimo's inclusion in the matchday squad remains uncertain. Despite his return to training, he has faced several setbacks in the latter half of the season, often finding himself on the sidelines. His last appearance for the squad dates back to matchday 26, with his most recent on-field action occurring on matchday 19.

While his return to training is a positive development for Stuttgart, fans will have to wait to see if Massimo will feature in this weekend's crucial clash.

The Ghanaian midfielder has played five games for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga this season. With his contract set to expire on June 30, 2024, it is questionable whether Massimo will ever wear the Swabian jersey in a game again.

Currently, VfB Stuttgart is third on the Bundesliga table with 70 points after 33 games.
