VfB Stuttgart's Ghanaian-born German midfielder, Roberto Massimo, is set to miss the upcoming game against champions Bayer Leverkusen due to muscular problems.

The 23-year-old winger has not trained this week, and head coach Sebastian Hoeneß confirmed the news in a pre-match talk on Friday.

According to Hoeneß, Massimo's injury is not expected to be long-term, and he is likely to recover soon. However, he will not be fit in time for Saturday evening's away match against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

"He hasn't trained this week. It probably won't be long-term and it will get better, but it won't be enough for the weekend," Hoeneß said.

Massimo's absence is not expected to significantly impact VfB Stuttgart's squad, as he has primarily been used as a substitute this season. He last appeared on matchday 19, when VfB Stuttgart secured a 5-2 win against Leipzig at the MHP Arena.

The Ghanaian midfielder has played five games for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga this season.
