Ghanaian players abroad wrap: Inaki Williams, Kamal Sowah score as Jordan Ayew suffers injury

Club football is back after the international break and Ghanaian players are in action.

Iñaki Williams scored for Athletic Club against Cadiz while Kamal Sowah also scored for Standard Liege against Eupen on his debut.

Jordan Ayew was forced off with injury as Palace lost at Aston Villa.

Premier League Round 5

Jordan Ayew was subbed off after 25 minutes into Crystal Palace’s 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Compatriot Jeffrey Schlupp lasted the entire match for Roy Hodgson’s side. Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was a 90th-minute substitute for Crystal Palace.

Full-back Tariq Lamptey was the star as Brighton beat Manchester United 3-1 at the Old Trafford. He provided two assists after starting his first game in over six months.

Mohammed Kudus came on in the 67th minute for West Ham United in their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City.

Antoine Semenyo was an unused substitute for Bournemouth as they played out a goalless draw against Chelsea.

Thomas Partey missed Arsenal’s win at Everton with a groin injury while Eddie Nketiah started the game and was replaced after 66 minutes.

Abdul Mumin was again on the bench for Rayo Vallecano as they won 2-0 against Deportivo Alaves.

Iñaki Williams scored his second goal of the season as Athletic Club beat Cadiz 3-0. His brother Nico Williams missed the game with a muscle injury.

Joseph Aidoo was an unused substitute as Celta Vigo lost 1-0 at home to Real Mallorca.

Baba Iddrisu came off the bench in the 75th minute as Almeria lost 2-1 at Villarreal.

Bundesliga round 4

Full-back Jeremie Frimpong lasted for 82 minutes as Bayer Leverkusen held Bayern Munich to a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena.

Midfielder Daniel-Kofi Kyereh was again out for Freiburg as they lost 4-2 at home to Borussia Dortmund.

Defender Kasim Adams was again not in the squad as Hoffenheim won 3-1 at Koln.

Defender Patric Pfeiffer made his Augsburg debut in a 3-0 at Leipzig.

Christopher Antwi-Adjei came on in the 63rd minute as Bochum held Frankfurt to a 1-1 draw at home. Maritz-Broni Kwarteng is still awaiting his Bochum debut after missing the game because of fitness issues.

Braydon Manu missed Darmstadt’s 3-3 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach because of sickness.

Serie A round 4

Striker Caleb Ekuban was on the bench as Genoa drew 2-2 with Napoli.

Ibrahim Sulemana was on the bench as Cagliari drew goalless against Udinese.

Alfred Duncan lasted 88 minutes and provided an assist for Fiorentina in their 3-2 win over Atalanta.

French Ligue 1 round 5

Midfielder Salis Abdul Samed played the full 90 minutes as Lens lost 1-0 at home to Metz.

Mohammed Salisu missed Monaco’s 2-2 draw against Lorient because of injury and now will undergo surgery.

Forward Ernest Nuamah lasted 77 minutes for Lyon as they drew goalless against Marseille.

Kelvin Yeboah came on in the 70th minute for Montpellier as they drew 2-2 at Strasbourg.

Belgium Pro League Round 7

Joseph Paintsil provided an assist as Genk won 2-0 at U.S. Gilloise.

Denis Odoi was a stoppage-time substitute in Club Brugge’s 4-2 win against Sporting Charleroi.

Kamal Sowah scored on his Standard Liege debut as they won 3-1 away at Eupen. Isaac Nuhu lasted the full 90 minutes for Eupen while Manaf Nurudeen was on the bench.
