Ghanaian winger Francis Amuzu draws inspiration from Jeremy Doku's exceptional Speed

Francis Amuzu, the 24-year-old Ghanaian-born Belgian winger currently playing for Anderlecht, has expressed his admiration for Jeremy Doku, the Belgian-born Ghanaian winger who is making waves at Manchester City.

Amuzu, who has been plagued by pubalgia, a condition characterized by pain around the pubic bone and lower abdominal muscles, for most of the season, made his comeback in the final round against Antwerp, marking his first appearance since December 17, 2023.

Despite the challenges he has faced, Amuzu maintains a close relationship with Doku, with the pair regularly exchanging updates and watching each other's matches.

Speaking to Het Nieuwsblad, Amuzu shared his admiration for Doku's exceptional speed, stating, "I still hear Jérémy every day and we watch each other's matches. One day we will have to watch Man City live, but follow in his footsteps? It was a point of work for both of us to remain calmer on the ball, but Doku is so exceptional,"

Amuzu acknowledged that both he and Doku have had to work on maintaining composure on the ball, but he was particularly impressed by Doku's ability to accelerate from a standstill to top speed. "How Jérémy went from standstill to a hundred kilometers per hour: wow. If I did that, I would feel a pain in the tips of my toes," Amuzu admitted.

Amuzu has made 15 appearances and scored 4 goals in the Belgian top flight while Doku has played 23 games, scored 3 goals, and assisted 7 in the Premier League this season.
