Goal scoring our main problem this season - Hearts of Oak assistant coach Abdul Bashiru

Hearts of Oak's assistant coach, Abdul Bashiru, has acknowledged that team's struggle to score goals is a season long problem.

Following their fifth loss in six matches in the Ghana Premier League, Bashiru spoke out after the club suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

Despite creating numerous chances during the match, Hearts of Oak failed to convert, adding to the criticism aimed at the technical staff due to their precarious position near the bottom of the table, sitting only four points above the drop zone.

In their last five league games, Hearts of Oak have only managed to score in one match.

“Goal scoring is our main problem and it is something we have been facing. In training you see them scoring but we don’t know what is going on. We have to go back and do our correction,” he told StarTimes.

Hearts of Oak are gearing up to face Berekum Chelsea in their next fixture, aiming to regain momentum and revive their faltering campaign.
