Hamburger SV defender Jan Gyamerah fully recovers from injury

German-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Jan Gyamerah has recovered from a minor injury and will be ready for action next when Hamburg SV takes on SV Sandhausen.

The defender has endured several injury setbacks this season but is hoping for a strong finish to the football season in German.

Last weekend, he featured for Hamburg for the first time after the Coronavirus break in a clash against Heidenheim but could not enjoy 90 minutes. He picked up a knock and had to be substituted in the minutes leading to the hour mark.

In an update, the manager for the side Dieter Hecking has noted that Jan Gyamerah is in line to return this weekend.

“It was a full-body cramp. It will not mean that he cannot play against Sandhausen. He now has the necessary lightness.

“The point now is to see who is ready and able to withstand the pressure”, the German tactician said.

In what will be a must-win encounter against SV Sandhausen in the 2. Bundesliga on Sunday, Hamburg SV needs to win to enhance their quest of gaining promotion to the Bundesliga next season.

With Jan Gyamerah set to play in that game, it will be a plus for the side to have his quality on the pitch.
