Hearts of Oak captain Kofi Agbesimah was sacked on Monday from the club's Pobiman training ground by coach Aboubakar Ouattara over his recent behavior.

Agbesimah, who joined the Phobians from Bechem United last summer is said to have requested for contract termination at the club.

The 27-year-old defender has communicated his unhappiness to the club, citing various issues. Despite having a year remaining on his contract, Agbesimah wants to leave the club.

The Phobians are preparing for the upcoming Democracy Cup against rivals Asante Kotoko.

And according to reports, Ouattara dismissed Agbesimah from training, expressing displeasure about the players’ attitude.

Agbesimah had an impressive campaign in the 2023/24 season, making 30 league appearances and scoring one goal.

He established himself as a key member of the team and was named as the club captain following the departure of Gladson Awako.

His departure would be a significant blow to Hearts, who rely heavily on his experience and leadership.

Meanwhile, the club is yet to comment about Agbesimah proposed contract termination.
