Hearts of Oak deny report of terminating Abubakar Traore contract

Hearts of Oak deny report of terminating Burkina Faso international Abubakar Traore's contract after eight months at the club ahead of the start of the Special Football League in February.

A report in the media stated that the 2004 Caf Condeferation Cup winners have terminated the contract of the 21-year-old attacker after being declared surplus to requirements by coach Kim Grant.

However, the Phobians have debunked the reports and has edged the public to treat it as rumours.

Traore joined the Phobians on a free transfer after a successful trial.

Early in the week, the Phobians parted ways with Ivorian midfielder Camara Nguessan who has joined Medeama SC.

Traore made only four appearances and scored once during the 2018 Ghana Premier League season which was abruptly ended following the premiering of the investigative piece by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas on corruption in Ghana football.

Meanwhile, the Normalisation Committee has organised a Special Competiton which will involve all Premier League clubs and 48 Division One sides.

The competition will kick off on February 3 at various venues.
