Former board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Ernest Thompson has shared that he always feels like shedding tears whenever he sees the bus of the club and the situation it is in.

The bus, called the Phobia bird, has often been ridiculed by rival clubs with serious backlash on the management of the team from football enthusiasts as well.

When seen in town, it appears very old, weak, with some exposed metallic surfaces capable of causing harm when one is in close proximity.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, Ernest Thompson has lamented while noting that he always feels like crying whenever he sees the Hearts of Oak bus.

“Everybody is waiting for Togbe to buy a bus for the team, if the club as a serious entity float shares, will get money and buy a bus.

“Even Pobeman project we need money to have it done and where is the money?

“Hearts of Oak has a weak financial base and that is what stops the team from going for good players, which is bad”

“Anytime, I see Hearts of Oak Bus I feel like crying because I was involved in purchasing that bus. Why should the club be using such a bus at this time?.

“Hearts shouldn’t have been using this bus by now and training on poor pitches”, the former Hearts of Oak board secretary shared.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the Ghana Premier League giants have through Star Assurance acquired a new bus and will officially unveil it soon.
