Former Ghana international, Charles Taylor, has publicly expressed his disappointment over Laryea Kingston's decision to step down as the head coach of the Ghana Black Starlets.

Kingston, who is also a former Ghana international, announced his resignation following the team's 2-1 defeat to Burkina Faso in the ongoing WAFU B U-17 tournament, which is being hosted by Ghana.

Taylor stated that he has always respected Kingston for his passion and commitment towards the game. He further compared Kingston's coaching style to that of former Ghana coaches, Addy and Afranie, who were known for their ability to manage and nurture young talents.

"Since I got to know Laryea I respect him till today because whatever he does he does it with passion the under 17 Laryea picked it show that the old under-17 that we saw coach Addy coach Afranie type of coaching that manage boys like himself (Laryea) and a lot of players that delivered for Ghana.," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"Those coach I compare with Laryea because if you look at the under-17 the football they were playing it made me remember those days because the quality is more so I always encouraged him.

"I call him to talk to him, and that day he resigned in the morning he called I spoke to him for almost two hours when we came to rasta park in the rain I was in the car with him talking to him. For me I am disappointed that he has resigned from the under-17,"
