Former Asante Kotoko defender Charles Owusu has attributed his unsuccessful spell at Asante Kotoko to persistent injuries.

The former BA United left-back joined the Porcupine Warriors in October 2021, signing a three-year deal.

Owusu was shown the exit door after failing to impress at the former Ghana Premier League champions.

According to Owusu, he was unable to succeed at Kotoko because to recurring injuries during his time.

“My season with Kotoko was plagued by injuries. I couldn’t live up to expectations because of persistent injuries. The whole of last season I was unable to play football due to injury setbacks. I’m praying to secure move in order to partake in the 2024/25 football season” he said.

The former Kotoko defender departed Kotoko to Bofoakwa Tano before the start of the 2023/24 season but did not make any appearances due to injury.

Having recovered from injury, the 27-year-old will be hoping to stay fit in order to perform for his outfit in the upcoming season.
