I miss being on the pitch - Injured Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi

Published on: 09 July 2024

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi is concerned about his lack of football activities in recent times due to injury setback.

The former Medeama and Legon Cities shot stopper almost missed the entire 2023/24 season with the Phobians following meniscus tear injury.

Speaking to Kessben FM monitored by Footballghana.com, the former Ghana youth international goalkeeper expressed he missed being on the pitch.

“I suffered a meniscus tear which requires surgery. It will take me about two months to recover if I undergo surgery”

“I miss being on the pitch honestly. I always feel bad when I see my teammates playing. I’m taking inspiration from Courtois of Madrid because after a long term injury, he returned and delivered top class performance. I’m confident I will bounce back stronger” he said.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper joined the Phobians before the start of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.

Despite arriving with huge expectations, Ofori Antwi failed to glitter for the Ghanaian giants due to injury setback.

He made few appearances during the campaign before injury plagued his season with the rainbow boys.
