Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has expressed disappointment for not applying for the Black Stars coaching position, which became vacant after Otto Addo resigned following Ghana's elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
So far, Kwasi Appiah is the only Ghanaian coach who has confirmed applying for the role.
The Ghana Football Association's Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has also revealed that they have received hundreds of applications and are in the process of creating a shortlist.
During an interview with Kessben Sports, Karim Zito conveyed his regret for not submitting an application, saying "I regret not putting my name in the hat. I believe I would have been a suitable candidate."
He also expressed confidence in the GFA's ability to select the best coach for the Black Stars, saying "I trust they will appoint a competent and experienced coach to guide the team and develop the young talented players."
The new coach for the Black Stars will be appointed by the end of January, per Asante Twum.
