Ibrahim Danlad nearing switch to Ethiopian Coffee after Asante Kotoko exit

Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad appears poised to embark on a new chapter with Ethiopian Coffee Sport Club, according to a report by Kickgh.com.

The 21-year-old shot-stopper bid farewell to his eight-year tenure with the Porcupine Warriors last month after failing to secure a contract extension.

Having lost his starting role to Fredrick Asare, Ibrahim faced a challenging season, featuring in just 13 matches for Kotoko during the 2023/24 football season.

Despite attracting interest from various clubs, including giants Hearts of Oak, Danlad has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Ethiopian Coffee Sport Club, also known as the Morning Stars.

He is anticipated to be formally unveiled and commence preseason training with the team next week.

Ethiopian Coffee SC, who clinched third place in the Ethiopian Premier League last season, aims to bolster their squad in preparation for a competitive bid for the league title in the upcoming campaign.

During his tenure with Asante Kotoko, Danlad made significant contributions, representing Ghana across various youth levels including the U-17, U-20, and U-23 teams, as well as earning caps for the senior national team, the Black Stars. Ibrahim was also part of the Black Stars' squad for the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.
