In-form Inaki Williams not included in Ghana’s squad for Nigeria, Uganda friendlies

Ghana's national football team, the Black Stars, will be without the services of Athletic Bilbao's star player Inaki Williams for the upcoming international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda next week.

The 29-year-old forward was notably absent from the 26-man squad announced by head coach Otto Addo on Saturday night for the matches set to take place in Morocco.

No specific reasons were given for his omission from the squad. The player has had a frustrating Africa Cup of Nations campaign with Ghana in Ivory Coast at the start of the year where he made a costly mistake leading to a goal against Egypt.

But he has been a man on form this season for Athletic Club, scoring nine goals and providing three assists, one of them just this past weekend against Deportivo Alaves.

In addition to Williams, other notable absentees from the squad include Richard Ofori, Joseph Paintsil, and Majeed Ashimeru.

The Black Stars are focused on delivering strong performances against Nigeria and Uganda as they continue their preparations for upcoming competitions.

The friendly match under Otto Addo's leadership marks his return to coaching the Black Stars on March 22nd, with expectations high for a positive start to his second stint in charge.
