CAF and University of Cape Town sign partnership to elevate capacity of African football administrators

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the University of Cape Town (UCT) have inked a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Cairo, Egypt.

This ground-breaking agreement paves the way for UCT to offer tailored courses and programs as an Africa Centre of Education Excellence.

These initiatives will focus on imparting knowledge, building capacity, and enhancing administrative skills among Africa's football administrators.

Signed by CAF's Secretary General, VĂ©ron Mosengo-Omba, and UCT's Council Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dayanand Reddy, the MoU signals a new era for African football.

It underscores a commitment to education and skills development for the administrators responsible for managing Member Associations.

Mosengo-Omba expressed CAF's pride in collaborating with UCT, a globally renowned center of learning, emphasizing the agreement's role in elevating CAF's status as one of Africa's foremost learning organizations.

The partnership aligns with CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe's pledge to enhance efficiency and professionalism in African football.

Advocate Norman Arendse, UCT Council Chair, voiced the university's enthusiasm for this vital project, aiming to train and cultivate the present and future leaders of African football.

Having been recognized as the top university in Africa by prestigious global rankings, UCT will conduct a program encompassing online and on-site modules at the Graduate School of Business.

Key objectives include enhancing the expertise of African football stakeholders, augmenting the capacity of CAF's 54 member associations, fostering innovation, and contributing to the advancement and sustainability of African football.
