FIFA President Gianna Infantino has reached out to Zambia’s Copper Queens amidst political turmoil within the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), just 86 days before the Paris Olympics women’s football event kicks off.

The Copper Queens, who secured their Olympic qualification by defeating Morocco 3-2 on aggregate, find themselves embroiled in conflicts with stakeholders back home.

Infantino, taking to social media, wished the qualified teams, including Zambia, the best for the upcoming Olympics. Despite the FAZ facing a possible suspension due to political interference, Infantino urged the Copper Queens to make history once again in Paris.

In a message posted on his official Instagram page, Infantino expressed his anticipation for Zambia to create more historic moments, referencing their achievement of scoring the 1,000th goal in FIFA Women’s World Cup history at the previous edition.

The Copper Queens are set to compete in Group B against Germany, the United States, and Australia in the upcoming tournament.
