Hearts of Oak players joking and lining up girls with their small cars - Amankwah Mireku

Former Hearts of Oak captain, Yaw Amankwah Mireku, launched a scathing attack on the club's players amid their recent poor performance, labeling them as "jerks."

The outburst comes as the team finds itself perilously close to relegation, suffering their fifth defeat in six matches, including a 1-0 loss to Accra Lions on Wednesday that has left them four points away from the drop zone.

Mireku, a pivotal figure during the club's glory days, including their 2004 CAF Confederation Cup triumph, did not hold back in his criticism of the current squad.

He emphasized the lack of dedication among players, accusing them of prioritizing frivolous pursuits over their on-field responsibilities.

"Instead of acknowledging the difficulty of playing for Hearts of Oak and putting forth extra effort, the players are just doing it anyhow.

They (the players) manage to purchase some small cars, line up the girls, and that's it. They're just joking in the club," Mireku blew the fuse.

"They need to put in a lot of effort and put aside their opulent lifestyle."
