Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has set sights on defending the FA Cup title at the end of the season.

The Still Believe lads, who defeated King Faisal 2-0 last season to annex their first FA Cup title in the country are on the brink of winning the title for the second time.

The Dawu-based club are in the semifinals of this year’s competition after beating Soccer Intellectuals in the quarterfinals clash on Thursday afternoon.

Abdul Aziz Issah, who has emerged as a top transfer target for clubs in Africa and Europe at large scored the only to propel Dreams FC to book a place in the semifinals.

Zito speaking after the game reiterated desire to defend the title to aid them qualification back to Africa.

“As defending champion, I will be very happy to defend the title and go back to Africa again” he said.

The Still Believe lads defied all odds to reach the semifinals of their maiden participation in the Confederation Cup campaign.

Dreams FC were on the brink of making history, but things fell apart after succumbing to a heavy defeat at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday to Zamalek.

The Ghana FA Cup holders went into the return leg with the advantage after holding the Egyptian powerhouse to a pulsating goalless draw in the first leg played at the Cairo International Stadium.

But the Ghanaian outfits’ hopes of reaching the finals dashed after succumbing to a 3-0 defeat.
