Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Kyei Dwamena has admitted he has underperformed for the Ghanaian giants since joining the club.

Dwamena joined Kotoko before the start of the Ghana Premier League campaign, signing a three year deal with the club.

Since joining the club, the 24-year-old has managed 19 appearances across competitions, scoring just a goal in the process.

The former WAFA midfielder picked up an injury whiles in action for the Porcupine Warriors against Karela United and had to be sidelined for a month.

Dwamena is back from injury and is available for selection for the Porcupine Warriors ahead of their game against Legon Cities this weekend.

Speaking to the club’s media, the midfielder admitted not being able to live up to expectations since joining the club.

“Playing at WAFA and then coming to Kotoko are two different things. The support base, the environment and the condition of services are not the same. For me, adaptation was a problem. The fans will get to know the Michael they knew at WAFA from next season”

“I know this is not how I play. Those who knows how I play can attest to the qualities I possessed. This season, I have been shambolic. I didn’t live up to expectations. I will plead with the fans to have patience and I believe they will enjoy every bit of me next season” he said.
