The Public Relations Officer of Berekum Chelsea, Isaac Obeng, has disclosed that their head coach, Samuel Boadu, has promised his players a special bonus if they beat his former team, Hearts of Oak, in a Ghana Premier League clash on Wednesday.

Set to unfold at the Golden City Park, the showdown between the Berekum Blues and the Phobians has garnered significant attention.

Boadu, who was dismissed by Hearts of Oak two seasons ago following a lackluster start to their campaign, is determined to exact revenge against his former employers.

Obeng disclosed that Boadu has personally assured Berekum Chelsea players of a special bonus if they emerge victorious in the encounter. The promise adds an extra layer of motivation for the team as they prepare to face a formidable opponent in Hearts of Oak.

“It’s a revenge game for Samuel Boadu against Hearts of Oak on Wednesday. He has personally promised the guys (Berekum Chelsea players) that if they win, he has a special bonus for them,” Obeng revealed during an interview with Nhyira FM in Kumasi.

Boadu's tenure with the Phobians was marked by both on-field success and managerial accolades.

Under his guidance, Hearts of Oak secured an impressive five trophies in less than two years, including the coveted Ghana Premier League title in the 2020/2021 season, back-to-back FA Cup triumphs, as well as victories in the Ghana Super Cup and the President’s Cup.
