Injured Leicester City Goalie Kasper Schmeichel Treated to Surprise 30th Birthday Party

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichelmade some outstanding saves during his side's Champions Leaguedraw against Copenhagen in midweek, but unfortunately suffered a broken hand, subsequently being ruled out of the Foxes' Premier League clash against West Brom on Sunday.

It's attimes like these that a professional footballer could getdown in the dumps, especially on their 30th birthday, but thankfully Schmeichel clearly has a large and loving family to get him through the frustrating process of being injured.

Writing on Instagram, Schmeichel revealed to his followers: "Thank you very much for all the birthday messages.

"It means a lot. Thank you very much to all my friends and family who are there during the tough times as well. Today was a tough birthday knowing that I'm not going to be playing tomorrow.

"But knowing I have the support of all these people gives me strength. And I will be working as hard as I can to be back playing soon as I can. Thank you so much to my beautiful wife for organising a surprise party at such short notice to cheer me up @stineschmeichel".

Injuries must obviously be tough for professional footballers, but at least Schmeichel has the support of his friends and family. Alas, those well wishes were not powerful enough to see City get a positive result inSunday's late kickoff against West Brom, with last season's champions losing 2-1.
