Agent of Black Satellites forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Prince Umar has dismissed speculation Swiss side FC Basel are in talks with the player.

Fatawu has come under the limelight after excelling at the 2021 Total CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament hosted in Mauritania.

According to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, the Swiss top-flight league club in its proposal is ready to do the initial payment of $500,000 and the balance of $500,000 when the Steadfast player attains 18years.

However, speaking to SportsworldGhana.com, Prince Umar Ibrahim said; "I am seriously surprised where the news is coming from, that is completely untrue."

"I can tell you that indeed, we have received a lot of offers for Fatawu after the U-20 AFCON in Mauritania but I can also tell you that FC Basel is not one of those clubs we are in talks with,’" he added.

At the recently ended U-20 AFCON, he finished the tournament as the best player on the back of his outstanding performances for the Ghana Black Satellites.

Fatawu has been handed Black Stars call-up by coach CK Akonnor ahead of the two remaining Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé and Principe.
