Ghanaian winger Joseph Amoako is already looking forward to making impact with FC Samtredia after sealing a move to the Georgian club.

The 21-year-old completed a move to FC Samtredia on Monday, signing a three-year deal with an option to extend for another year.

Amoako encountered several challenges during his stint with Swedish club Helsingborgs IF. He was charged with rape and was sentenced to prison.

The forward was released after it was discovered that he had been wrongly convicted.

Upon his return to Kotoko, his contract with the Ghanaian giants was terminated in August 2023, making him club-less.

Having secured a new move, Amoako says it is time for him to refresh, rethink and restart after overcoming challenges to secure a new move.

Amoako is expected to play a huge role for the club in the upcoming campaign as they aim to make meaningful impact.

“It has been a great test these couple of years, but I'm forever grateful to God, my agent, my advisor, my parents and some very important people that stood up with me in my difficult times, now God has done it again and we gonna celebrate this win together regardless”

“I'm forever grateful and humbled to have search a great team behind me, it's time to refresh, rethink, and restart. Let's do history” he wrote on Instagram.

The winger parted company with the Porcupine Warriors in August 2023 before he departed to join the United Arab Emirate side second-tier side TFA Dubai.

Before leaving Kotoko, he had spent a season long loan at Swedish club Helsingborgs IF.

He made nine appearances for Helsingborgs IF in the Allsvenskan before the team suffered relegation after the 2022/23 season.

Amoako will be hoping to make an instant impact at FC Samtredia in Georgia.
