Japan is set to host a high-profile international women's friendly match between Japan's Nadeshiko and Ghana's Black Queens at the Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium on July 13.

The match serves as a crucial preparation for both teams as they gear up for their respective tournaments.

The Black Queens, who recently secured their spot in the 2024 Women African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after a victorious qualifying round against Namibia, aim to utilize this friendly match to maintain their form ahead of the tournament. The game also presents an opportunity for head coach Nora Häuptle to evaluate new additions to the team.

On the other hand, the Japanese team views this match as a significant part of their preparation for the Paris Olympics. Currently ranked 7th in the world, Japan is looking to strengthen its team against the 64th-ranked Ghana's Black Queens, who are also the 4th-ranked team on the African continent.

The Black Queens have been active on the international stage, having recently played against Senegal twice and Benin during the FIFA Women's international windows.

This upcoming friendly match against Japan's Nadeshiko is expected to provide a different level of challenge and experience for the team.
