Former Ghana international, Asamoah Gyan has showered praise on Black Satellites striker Jerry Afriyie, lauding him as a player with immense potential.

The 17-year-old showcased his talent as a pivotal figure for the U-20 team during their triumphant campaign at the recent African Games, where Ghana clinched gold in the men's football event.

Afriyie's defining moment came when he scored a dramatic 90th-minute winner against Uganda, leaving a lasting impression on spectators.

Impressed by Afriyie's performance, former Black Stars captain Gyan commended the young striker's abilities and expressed confidence in his future success.

"Jerry Afriyie is an exceptional player. He possesses strong technical skills and displays great determination on the field. Although he may still be refining his movement off the ball due to his relative inexperience, his overall performance is commendable," remarked Gyan during an interview on Asempa FM as monitored by Footballghana.com.

Gyan further praised Afriyie's striking prowess, highlighting his contribution of three goals throughout the tournament.

"His proficiency in striking the ball is impressive, evident from his three goals in the competition. With proper training and guidance, there's no doubt he will reach great heights in his career," Gyan added.
