JUST IN: CAF reschedules FIFA Women U-20 World Cup Qualifiers

Published on: 13 March 2020

This month’s African qualifiers for the FIFA Women U-20 World Cup have been postponed, footballghana.com can report.

The decision to postpone the qualifiers which were initially scheduled from 20-22 March and 27-29 March has become necessary due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ahead of the qualifiers, the Emergency Committee of CAF held a meeting today to assess the threat of the disease on the continent.

At the end of the meeting, CAF has decided that the qualifiers for the Women’s U-20 World Cup will be moved to a later date. It cited that it is in the best interest of all stakeholders after taking into consideration the latest declaration of the World Health Organization describing COVID-19  as a pandemic.

In line with that, Ghana's clash against Guinea Bissau has been postponed.
