Kaiserslautern announce the signing of Ghana defender Jan Gyamerah

FC Kaiserslautern has announced the signing of Ghanaian right-back Jan Gyamerah from FC Nuremberg, bolstering their defense ahead of the 2024/25 Bundesliga 2 season.

The 29-year-old joins the Fritz-Walter-Stadion outfit on an undisclosed contract. The club confirmed the move in a statement on Friday, July 26, 2024.

“FC Kaiserslautern has strengthened its defense about a week before the start of the 2024/25 second division season: Jan Gyamerah is moving from league rival 1. FC Nuremberg to the Palatinate,” the statement read.

Gyamerah brings considerable experience to Kaiserslautern, having featured in over 170 second division games throughout his career.

Last season, Gyamerah played 28 games for FC Nuremberg, where he captained the team on ten occasions.

25 of the 28 matches he featured in were starts.

His versatile defensive skills allowed him to play as a right-back and central defender. Additionally, Gyamerah scored two goals and provided two assists.

His experience and leadership will be valuable assets for Kaiserslautern’s upcoming campaign.
