Karela United maintain impressive home run

Karela United continued their impressive home run at the dreaded Cosby Awuah Memorial Park with a convincing 3-1 victory over Kumasi Asante Kotoko on GPL Match-day 11.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko were hoping to bounce back to winning ways after losing to their bitterest rivals Accra Hearts of Oak but were denied by the Nzema-based club

Paa Kwesi Fabin played a three man attack with Frederick Boateng and Songne Yacouba maintaining their positions upfront together with Saddick Adams who was handed his first start of the season.

Imoro Ibrahim opened the scoring for the home team on the 10th minute with a bullet which might contest the goal of the week in the Ghana Premier League.

Songne Yacouba gave the porcupines hope after tapping into an empty net to make it one all on the 29th minutes . Just before the first half was coming to an end, Diawusie Taylor picked up a loose ball from Awudu Nafiu before being hacked down and the referee made no mistake by whistling for a spot kick which was beautifully converted by Abdul Ganiyu on the 47th minutes.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko came into the second half pressing Karela United hoping to equalise but none of their effort was enough to beat Nii Hammond Kalala.

Just as many taught Kotoko were going to equalize, Karela delivered the sucker point through Maxwell Baako who dispossessed Awudu Nafiu in the Kumasi Asante Kotoko 18 yard box to curl home a beauty.
