Austrian defender Kevin Danso has returned to Augsburg after his successful loan spell with Southampton in the English Premier League.
The full-back who is of Ghanaian descent joined the Saints in the summer transfer window on a season-long loan spell to ensure he enjoyed regular playing time.
Despite adding depth to the St. Mary’s side, he could note earn consistent game time as he missed a chunk of the team’s games in the English Premier League.
Kevin Danso, 21, managed to make just 6 appearances this season while providing one assist.
Though Southampton has the option to sign him on a permanent basis with his deal ending at the end of June, they have decided not to activate that clause.
In line with that, the full-back has returned to Augsburg where he will be discussing his future with the German Bundesliga side in the next couple of weeks.
It is understood that there are top-flight clubs in Germany after Danso’s signature but there is also the possibility of staying put with Augsburg for the next season.
