Kobbie Mainoo is the nearest I’ve seen to Zidane – Paul Scholes
Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes has heaped praise on teenager Kobbie Mainoo, likening him to football great Zinedine Zidane.
Speaking to The Guardian, Paul Scholes said Kobbie Mainoo is the nearest he has seen to Zinedine Zidane when it comes to taking the ball, receiving the ball, and going past players.
“He’s the nearest thing I have seen to Zinedine Zidane in taking a ball, receiving the ball, cruising past people,” Paul Schools said.
Kobbie Mainoo impressed with his performance for Manchester United in the 2023/24 football season.
Having made 24 appearances for the Red Devils in the English Premier League, the 19-year-old scored three goals and provided one assist.
His top performances earned him a place in the England squad for the 2024 European Championship.
He will be playing a key role for Manchester United in the 2024/25 football season.
