Black Stars midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru, is aiming to repay Anderlecht for their confidence in him by extending his contract for two more years.

The 26-year-old played in only 12 league games last season due to recurring injuries, the latest he suffered at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations that almost ruled him out for the whole of the second half of the season.

Ashimeru acknowledged that it wasn't his best season and is eager to perform better in the upcoming season.

“I'm very happy. I'm very happy, I must say, because I've been here for two and a half years and I feel home.

“The supporters, the team and everyone in it, so it makes me feel really good and I feel at home.

“I'm very grateful. I'm very grateful because I had a couple of talks with the board and they were really positive.

“And, unluckily, I didn't have a great season last year because of some injuries and stuff like that.”
