MATCH FIXING: We have not been treated fairly by GFA - Inter Allies' vice president, Delali Senaye,
Vice President of Inter Allies, Delali Senaye, has insisted that they have not been treated fairly by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] following their demotion to Division Two.
Allies suffered a demotion after being found guilty of match fixing against Ashgold in their final game of the 2020/21 season.
The Miners secured a 7-2 scoreline with Allies' defender, Hashmin Musah scoring two own goals.
According to him, he deliberately scored the goals to ruin a bet.
But according to the club, they have been ‘punished severely’ despite the failure of the association to establish how the club benefitted from the outcome of the match.
“Inter Allies Football Club disagrees with the Disciplinary Committee ruling on the case, and also disagrees with the reasoning of the Appeals Committee in affirming the decision of the Disciplinary Committee,” Club Vice President, Delali Senaye, said in a statement on Thursday.
“…the grounds of our appeal was not looked at; let alone considered.
“As established by prosecution in its investigative report on paragraph 11, Emmanuel Nii Amoah Gogo did not to any official(s) of Inter Allies football club about the approaches of a third party to manipulate the outcome of the match.
“Why is Inter Allies Football Club being punished severely for something its officials know nothing about?
“This substantial evidence adduced by the investigative committee, surprisingly, was not mentioned by the Disciplinary Committee in its decision.
“As a law-abiding club committed to protecting the sanctity of football, we availed ourselves to all channels to help the Ghana Football Association uneath the truth with all details from our internal inquiry, but we were rather punished based on conjecture and assumptions,” he added.
