Mathew Cudjoe is a like for like substitute for Mohammed Kudus in Black Stars – Sammy Anim Addo

Former GFA Executive Council member Sammy Anim Addo has advocated for Mathew Anim Cudjoe to be included in the Black Stars squad, likening his abilities to those of West Ham's Mohammed Kudus.

Anim Cudjoe, who made waves at just 16 with Asante Kotoko for his exceptional dribbling skills, is now 21 years old and has represented Ghana at various youth levels, including the U-20 team.

Despite his promising talent, Anim Cudjoe is yet to sparkle since joining Scottish side Dundee United and is now a free agent after not extending his contract.

Speaking to Luv FM in Kumasi, his manager Anim Addo asserted that Cudjoe possesses qualities comparable to Kudus and should be considered a viable option for the Black Stars, particularly as a substitute when Kudus may not be performing at his peak.

"The boy’s talent is beyond normal; if you look at Mohammed Kudus in the Black Stars, my son is the only one in Ghana who has those qualities that Kudus possesses. If we give him the opportunity and he gets the right environment and the right structure, Matthew should be on the Black Stars team minimum as a bench player.

“The day Kudus is not sparkling and needs to be substituted, Matthew is the player we should be thinking of because all those qualities Kudus has, Mathew has them too. Matthew is fearless and you know it, it's not easy to get young chaps with that kind of mentality and heart, and we need to use them,” he stressed.
