Mohammed Kudus’ scissor kick against Man City not shortlisted for Premier League Goal of the Season
The Premier League has ignored Mohammed Kudus’ brilliant scissor kick goal against Man City in its shortlist for Premier League Goal of the Season.
They did not deem it worthy to be included in the ten nominated goals in contention for the prize.
The goal against the eventual champions was particularly lovely but still did not make the cut, bizarrely to the surprise of many.
The 23-year-old deserved recognition for his audacious strike in the title-crowning match at the Etihad Stadium, a game that the whole world watched because it was the 3-1 win that secured the title for Pep Guardiola’s side.
It was not only the goal against Man City that should have been nominated for the goal of the season. A similar acrobatic strike against Brentford should have made the shortlist but was also ignored.
Kudus finished the season with eight league goals and six assists.
