Ex- Black Stars player Mohammed Polo says the Black Starlets should have won the Africa Junior Championships but because they lacked some qualities they let is go easily.

The former Accra Hearts of Oak player believes there is something missing in the team which could have been an additional strength for the starlets and wants that to be added before the worls cupin India late this year.

The Black Starlets lost the Africa Junior Championships to Mali after a 1-0 defeat in the final.

“It’s very unfortunate. It shows very clear that there is something lacking with our football. We have to do something at the level for them to gain some maturity because they (The Black Starlets) need some additional value that is what is missing,” he told Happy FM.

“This was a tournament we should have won but we let it go. Fortunately, we have qualified for the World Cup but if we don’t put that additional value toit when we go to the world cup it will be a different thing all together,” he added.

The Black Starlets will represent Africa at the world Cup together with Guinea, Niger and African Champions Mali.
