Dreams FC attacking midfielder Sylvester Simba has advised Nsoatreman FC to play more international friendly games to enhance their chances of making an impact in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup.

The Nsoatre-based club earned their place in the inter-club competition after triumphing in the FA Cup competition.

They edged out regional rivals Bofoakwa Tano 4-3 on penalties to secure their first-ever FA Cup title under coach Maxwell Konadu.

Simba was pivotal for Dreams FC when they defied all odds to reach the semifinals of the Confederation Cup last season.

And speaking in an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the 22-year-old asserted Nsoatreman FC need more international exposure to attest their readiness before embarking on the Africa journey.

“The Confederation Cup is a big competition. There’s the perception that when you are playing Africa you need to get experienced players in order to thrive. But I will advise Nsoatreman FC to seek for more international friendly matches”

“They should move to other countries and play some teams before the competition in order to adapt to the home and away strategy. They can go to neighboring countries like Togo, Benin and others just to have the feel of playing outside the country”

“We are within Ghana and play ourselves, I don’t think preparing in the country alone will help them”

“They should move from their comfort zone and play clubs in Nigeria and others to get themselves acquainted to the competition. If the team stay in Ghana and prepare I think they will find it difficult. They don’t have experienced players and I don’t know if they will sign such players to augment the team, so I think the best approach is to play more games with clubs in neighboring countries” he added.

The preliminary round draw will be held on Thursday at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, with the kickoff for the stage scheduled for August.
