Head coach of the national under-17 team the Black Starlets, Coach Paa kwesi Fabin says their primary target is to qualify for the world cup in India.

The Black Starlets arrive in Gabon to begin preparations for the Africa Junior Championships which starts next weekend.

A semifinal berth will guarantee the two times world cup champions another opportunity to represent the continent after missing out on the last five editions.

Ghana are also two times African Champions however Coach Fabin who has an eye on the trophy insists the world cup is their main priority.

“Our desire is to qualify for the world and that is what we are going to fight for. Anything that comes after that will be a bonus,” he said.

“We are leaving early for Gabon because we want to go and continue with our preparations. We’ve lined up to friendlies which will be played under the flood lights,” he added.

Ghana will open their campaign in Franceville against the mighty Cameroon.
